The Upper West Region of Assemblies of God, Ghana, has successfully hosted the maiden edition of the Empowered Ministers Conference for credentialed and lay pastors and their spouses at Revival Assembly of God, Wa. The capacity-building event took place on 16th December 2025.

The conference forms part of the Transformation Agenda, the vision of the Executive Presbytery, aimed at equipping pastors and their spouses with the skills and spiritual depth needed to provide transformational leadership within their respective areas of calling.

The conference featured Rev. Stephen Wengam, General Superintendent, and Rev. (Rtd.) Ernest Agyei, Special Assistant to the General Superintendent, as guest speakers.

Topics addressed included the impact of healthy family life on pastoral ministry, mastering critical management skills for church growth, effective church branding, groaning in prayer for church growth, and successful succession and transition in ministry, among others.

Rev. Wengam encouraged pastors to work diligently toward leaving lasting legacies, urging them to reject mediocrity, slothfulness, and corruption. Rev. Ernest Agyei admonished pastors not to demonize retirement but to embrace it as a natural and necessary phase of life, encouraging ministers to begin preparing for retirement from the onset of their pastoral journey.
