The General Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Ghana, Rev. Stephen Wengam, and his wife, Lady Mrs. Monica Wengam, paid their 4th Apostolic Visit to the Ashanti East Region at the Lighthouse Assembly of God, Kumasi. The event brought together serving pastors and their spouses, retired ministers and their spouses, and pastors’ widows for a time of fervent prayer, spiritual impartation, warm fellowship, and biblical instruction.
Welcome Address
The Regional Superintendent, Rev. Emmanuel Gyasi, warmly welcomed the General Superintendent and his wife. He commended Rev. Wengam for his visionary leadership and highlighted several transformational initiatives that have propelled the church to greater heights. These include the rebranding agenda, revival initiatives, and aggressive church planting efforts, among others.
Powerful Prayer Session
Rev. Wengam led participants in an intensive three-and-a-half-hour prayer session, interceding for the Church, the nation of Ghana, the upcoming World Assemblies of God Fellowship Congress, and the 32nd Biennial General Council Meeting.
He also challenged pastors to emulate the fervent faith of the early Church fathers, remain steadfast in their calling, prioritize church planting, and strengthen their spiritual disciplines through prayer and the study of God’s Word.
Presentation of Gifts
The National President of the Ministers’ Wives Association, Lady Mrs. Monica Wengam, expressed appreciation to pastors’ wives for their active participation in the activities of the association. She encouraged them to remain committed to their calling and continue supporting their husbands faithfully in ministry.
She subsequently presented gifts to serving pastors, cloth to pastors’ wives, cash and gifts to retired ministers and their spouses, as well as cash and cloth to pastors’ widows. She explained that these personal gifts, sponsored by herself and the General Superintendent, were inspired by their desire to support ministers and their families, especially those serving under challenging conditions.
In appreciation of their compassionate and visionary leadership, the Ashanti East Regional Council presented special gifts to the General Superintendent and his wife.
Renewal of Marriage Vows
Rev. Wengam led married ministers and their spouses in renewing their marriage vows, urging them to uphold the sanctity of marriage and model godly Christian homes for the congregations they serve.
Holy Communion
The Apostolic Visitation concluded with the administration of Holy Communion, a cherished feature of this year’s visitation, as participants reflected on Christ’s sacrifice and renewed their commitment to faithful Kingdom service.
