The General Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Ghana, Rev. Stephen Wengam, has inaugurated a seven-member Strategic Evangelism Planning Committee tasked with developing and recommending key evangelism strategies to promote church growth and advance the mission of the Church.
The committee is chaired by Rev. Dr. Sylvanus Elorm. Other members include Rev. Alex Nkrumah, Rev. Dr. Alfred Kweku Akumbie, Rev. Kwadwo Boateng Bempah, Rev. Maxwell Kwesi Incoom, Home Missions Director, Dr. Loretta Abena Sarpong, who serves as Secretary, and Deacon Atta Fynn.
During the inauguration, Rev. Wengam reminded the committee that Ghana remains a largely unreached mission field despite the significant presence of Christianity in the country. He stressed the need for the Church to cast its net wider and adopt innovative and effective evangelism strategies to reach more people with the Gospel.
The General Superintendent cautioned against complacency, especially considering the size, influence, and reach of Assemblies of God, Ghana. He urged the committee to approach its assignment with diligence, creativity, and a deep sense of urgency in fulfilling the Great Commission.
Responding on behalf of the committee, Rev. Dr. Sylvanus Elorm expressed gratitude to the leadership of the Church for the confidence reposed in them and pledged the committee’s commitment to working diligently to deliver on its mandate.
