The General Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Ghana, Rev. Stephen Wengam, accompanied by the Executive Presbytery, has arrived in Banjul, The Gambia, for a one-week Apostolic and Missions Visit.

The delegation comprises Rev. Godwin Tito Agyei, Assistant General Superintendent; Rev. Ernest Birikorang, General Secretary; Rev. Simon Abu Baba, General Treasurer; and Rev. Dr. Freeman Osei Tete, Head of Operations at the General Headquarters of Assemblies of God, Ghana.

The team was warmly received at the airport by a delegation led by the National Head of The Gambia Assemblies of God Mission, Rev. Paul Ampofo Williams.

During the visit, Rev. Wengam and the delegation will minister in various local churches across The Gambia, participate in the National Pastors and Leaders Conference, officiate the ordination and credentialing of pastors, and hold high-level strategic meetings with the national leadership of the church to strengthen the mission work.

The Gambia is the first international mission field established by Assemblies of God, Ghana. The mission was pioneered over three decades ago under the leadership of the late Rev. Simon Asore, former General Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Ghana. The first National Head of the mission was Rev. (Rtd.) Jerry Adjorlolo.

Today, the mission continues to grow with missionaries from Assemblies of God USA and Brazil serving alongside the Ghana Assemblies of God Mission in The Gambia.

This marks the first time the entire Executive Presbytery of Assemblies of God, Ghana has undertaken an official visit to The Gambia Assemblies of God Mission.

Expressing his excitement, the National Head, Rev. Paul Ampofo Williams, described the visit as historic and said it would further strengthen the partnership and accelerate the advancement of the Gospel in The Gambia.
