The General Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Ghana, Rev. Stephen Wengam, who also serves as a Cabinet Member of the World Assemblies of God Fellowship (WAGF), and his wife, Lady Mrs. Monica Wengam, have arrived in Georgetown, Guyana, where Rev. Wengam is the guest speaker for the 22nd Biennial General Council Meeting of the Guyana Assemblies of God. The event is scheduled to take place from 7th to 9th July 2026.

Ahead of the conference, Rev. Wengam ministered on Sunday, 5th July 2026, at the Central Assembly of God (Diplomat Centre) in Georgetown, the nation’s capital. The church is pastored by the General Superintendent of the Guyana Assemblies of God, Bishop John Smith.

Preaching on the theme, “The Awesome Deeds of Prayer,” from Acts 12:1–11, Rev. Wengam challenged believers to prioritize prayer and devote more time to seeking God. He emphasized that the Church can overcome the plans and agenda of Satan only through persistent and fervent prayer. According to him, prayer activates the ministry of angels, releases the supernatural, and brings about the manifestation of God’s wonders. He concluded the message by leading the congregation in an intense session of prayer.

Rev. Wengam also used the opportunity to invite Christians in Guyana to attend the World Assemblies of God Fellowship Congress, which will be hosted in Accra, Ghana, from 14th to 16th October 2026. He described Ghana as the gateway to Africa, highlighting its peace, hospitality, and rich tourist attractions, while encouraging delegates from around the world to participate in the historic gathering.

In his remarks, Bishop John Smith commended Rev. Wengam for delivering a timely and impactful message that addressed the spiritual needs of the Church in Guyana. As a token of appreciation, Bishop Smith presented gifts to Rev. Stephen Wengam and Lady Mrs. Monica Wengam.
