The 4th Apostolic Visitation of the General Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Ghana, Rev. Stephen Wengam, and his wife, Lady Mrs. Monica Wengam, took place at Central Assembly of God, Winneba, on Monday, 15th June 2026.
The event brought together pastors and their spouses, retired ministers and their spouses, as well as widows of pastors from across Central Region “A” for a time of prayer, fellowship, encouragement, and spiritual renewal.
Intensive Prayer Session
The General Superintendent led participants in an intensive three-and-a-half-hour prayer session, focusing on thanksgiving, repentance, rededication, intercession for the World Assemblies of God Fellowship Congress scheduled to be held in Accra in October 2026, the needs of the Church, personal concerns, and prayers for the peace and development of Ghana. Special prayers were also offered for the upcoming General Council Meeting of Assemblies of God, Ghana.
Welcome Address
The host Regional Superintendent, Rev. Bismark Moore, described the Apostolic Visitation as a historic, unprecedented, and spiritually enriching initiative that continues to strengthen pastors and their spouses in ministry.
Presentation of Gifts
Lady Mrs. Monica Wengam, National President of the Ministers’ Wives Association, encouraged ministers and their spouses to lead with diligence, integrity, and unwavering commitment to their calling.
She also presented cloth and cash donations to pastors’ widows, retired ministers, and their spouses. In addition, pastors’ wives received cloth, while pastors were presented with special gifts. These were personal donations from the General Superintendent and his wife in appreciation of their faithful service to the Church.
In a reciprocal gesture, the Regional Council presented a portrait of the First Couple of the Church to Rev. and Lady Mrs. Wengam in appreciation of their visionary leadership and support.
Exhortation
Rev. Wengam urged pastors to develop strong faith and guard against negative attitudes such as grumbling and anxiety, noting that these can rob believers of peace and hinder effective ministry.
Renewal of Marriage Vows
The General Superintendent led ministers and their spouses in renewing their marriage vows. He reminded participants of the Church’s commitment to the sanctity and permanence of marriage and challenged them to make their homes and marriages exemplary models for the congregations they serve.
Holy Communion
A major highlight of the visitation was the administration of Holy Communion by Rev. Wengam to pastors and their spouses. The sacred observance brought the gathering to a meaningful close, reinforcing the participants’ commitment to Christ, His Church, and their calling in ministry.
