The 3rd Apostolic Visitation of the General Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Ghana, Rev. Stephen Wengam, and his wife, Lady Mrs. Monica Wengam, took place on Tuesday, 16th June 2026, at Grace Center Assemblies of God, Assin Atonsu.

The event brought together pastors and their spouses, retired ministers and their spouses, as well as widows of pastors from across Central Region “B” for a time of prayer, fellowship, encouragement, and spiritual renewal.

Intensive Prayer Session

The General Superintendent led participants in an intensive three-and-a-half-hour prayer session, focusing on thanksgiving, repentance, rededication, intercession for the World Assemblies of God Fellowship Congress scheduled to be held in Accra from 14th–16th October 2026, the needs of the Church, personal concerns, and prayers for the peace and development of Ghana. Special prayers were also offered for the upcoming General Council Meeting of Assemblies of God, Ghana, scheduled for 18th–22nd August 2026.

Welcome Address

The Host Regional Superintendent, Rev. Anthony Efinu, described the Apostolic Visitation as a game-changing initiative and a vital catalyst for revival, transformation, and spiritual renewal within the Church.

Presentation of Gifts

Lady Mrs. Monica Wengam, National President of the Ministers’ Wives Association, encouraged ministers and their spouses to serve selflessly and pursue Christlike humility in their ministry and personal lives.

She used the occasion to present cloth and cash donations to pastors’ widows and the wives of retired ministers. Retired pastors received cash donations and gifts, while serving pastors were also presented with gifts. In addition, each pastor’s wife received a piece of cloth. These were personal gifts from the General Superintendent and his wife.

The gifts were intended to support vulnerable members of the ministerial family and encourage pastors serving faithfully in rural and economically challenging communities across the country.

Award Presentation to the General Superintendent and Wife

In recognition of their compassionate, visionary, and transformational leadership, the Central Regional Council presented its highest honour, the **Royal Servant Leadership Award**, to Rev. and Lady Mrs. Wengam.

Exhortation

Rev. Wengam urged pastors to strengthen their faith through spiritual disciplines such as extended periods of prayer, intensive personal Bible study, and meditation on God’s Word. He noted that these disciplines help believers overcome negative attitudes such as grumbling and anxiety, which hinder the exercise of faith, diminish effectiveness in ministry, and rob individuals of peace.

Renewal of Marriage Vows

The General Superintendent led pastors and their spouses in renewing their marriage vows. He reaffirmed the Church’s position on the sanctity and permanence of marriage, emphasizing that marriage is a lifelong covenant ordained by God. He challenged ministers and their spouses to make their marriages exemplary models for the congregations they serve.

Holy Communion

To crown the visitation, Rev. Wengam administered Holy Communion to pastors and their spouses, bringing the gathering to a meaningful and spiritually uplifting close.
