The Regional Director of Teen Challenge Africa, Rev. Jacobus Nomdoe, based in South Africa, paid a courtesy call on the General Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Ghana, Rev. Stephen Wengam, in Accra. Rev. Nomdoe was in Ghana to attend the Teen Challenge Africa Women’s Conference. He was accompanied by the National Director of Teen Challenge Ghana, Rev. Emmanuel Bawa, and the Regional Superintendent of Eastern Region “A” of Assemblies of God, Ghana.

During the visit, Rev. Nomdoe expressed appreciation for the longstanding partnership between Teen Challenge and Assemblies of God, Ghana. He commended the leadership of Teen Challenge Ghana for managing the rehabilitation centre effectively despite limited resources and reported that many former beneficiaries have successfully reintegrated into society.

Rev. Wengam disclosed that the Executive Presbytery of Assemblies of God, Ghana has approved architectural plans for a modern rehabilitation centre for drug addicts to be constructed in the Eastern Region. He appealed for financial support and strategic partnerships to bring the project to fruition, noting that the facility will significantly enhance efforts to transform lives affected by substance abuse.

He also praised the Board of Directors of Teen Challenge Ghana, chaired by Hon. Fuseini Donkor, for their visionary leadership and commitment to the growth and impact of the ministry.

As a gesture of goodwill, Rev. Wengam presented a traditional Ghanaian smock (Fugu) to Rev. Nomdoe, who in turn presented copies of books he has authored on drug rehabilitation and transformation.
