The North East Regional Minister, Hon. Ibrahim Tia, has paid a courtesy visit to the General Superintendent of Assemblies of God Ghana, Rev. Stephen Wengam, at the Church’s Headquarters.

Discussions focused on the development of the North East Region and the need for deeper collaboration between the Church and the State to promote holistic societal transformation.

Hon. Tia commended Rev. Wengam as an illustrious son of the region whose pedigree and remarkable achievements have brought great honour to its people. He described the General Superintendent as a true and visionary leader whose impact on the Church—and society at large—has been highly commendable.

The Minister further highlighted the vast potential within the region, particularly in agriculture, and called on key stakeholders to partner with the Regional Coordinating Council to harness these opportunities for the benefit of individuals, institutions, and the nation. He also outlined major government initiatives aimed at accelerating development and improving livelihoods in the region.

In his remarks, Rev. Wengam applauded the Regional Minister for his strong and proactive leadership, which has contributed to relative peace, development, and social cohesion in the region. He appealed to government, religious bodies, investors, and indigenes to work together to maximize the economic potential of the North East Region.

The visit concluded with Rev. Wengam presenting souvenir gifts to the Minister and offering prayers for him and the continued progress and prosperity of the region.
