The General Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Ghana, Rev. Stephen Wengam, has led a delegation of the Executive Presbytery to pay a courtesy call on the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Lt. He was accompanied by Rev. Ernest Birikorang, General Secretary; Rev. Simon Abu Baba, General Treasurer; Rev. Michael Ayesu, Accra West Regional Superintendent; Rev. Albert Anane, Eastern “A” Regional Superintendent; and Rev. (Rtd.) Ernest Agyei, Special Assistant to the General Superintendent. During the meeting, Rev. Wengam officially informed the CDS of the upcoming World Congress of the World Assemblies of God Fellowship, scheduled to take place in Accra from 14th–16th October 2026. He commended the CDS for his visionary leadership and urged officers of the security agencies to continue serving with patriotism, diligence, and professionalism. He also condemned recent attacks and killings of security personnel while performing their duties. In his response, the CDS expressed appreciation for the visit and commended Assemblies of God, Ghana, for its significant contributions to education and healthcare, particularly in rural communities. He pledged the support of the Ghana Armed Forces toward the successful hosting of the World Congress. He also presented a commemorative plaque to Rev. Wengam to mark the visit. Rev. Wengam, in turn, presented the CDS with a Bible and souvenirs from the church.
