

The impactful 3rd Apostolic Visit of the General Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Ghana, Rev. Stephen Yenusom Wengam, and his wife, Lady Mrs. Monica Wengam, to the North East Region took place on Friday, 26th June 2026, at Triumphant Assembly of God, Walewale. The programme brought together ministers and their spouses, retired ministers and their spouses, and pastors’ widows for a time of intense prayer, enriching fellowship, powerful exhortation, and divine impartation.
Visit to the Regional Office Project Site
Prior to the programme, the General Superintendent visited the Regional Office project site to inspect the progress of work, which was approximately 85% complete. He expressed satisfaction with the quality and pace of work undertaken so far.
Welcome Address
On behalf of the North East Regional Council, the Regional Superintendent, Rev. Baba Alhassan, warmly welcomed the General Superintendent and his wife. He commended Rev. Wengam for his visionary leadership and praised Lady Mrs. Monica Wengam for her unwavering support for vulnerable members of the ministerial family, particularly pastors’ widows, retired ministers, and their spouses.
Rev. Alhassan further revealed that the General Superintendent and his wife had made significant financial contributions towards the construction of the Regional Office Complex and had also sponsored the construction of a Legacy Temple at Paknatik.
Intensive Prayer Session
The General Superintendent led participants in an intensive three-and-a-half-hour prayer session, covering thanksgiving, repentance, intercession for the Church, peace and development in the nation and the region, the upcoming 2026 General Council Meeting, the World Assemblies of God Fellowship Congress, and personal needs. The gathering experienced a refreshing move of God.
Exhortation
Rev. Wengam urged pastors to cultivate contentment and avoid ostentatious lifestyles. He emphasized the importance of developing strong faith through spiritual discipline, noting that faith remains essential for effective ministry and Kingdom impact.
Presentation of Gifts
Lady Mrs. Monica Wengam expressed appreciation to ministers’ wives for their participation in the 2026 Biennial Ministers’ Wives Conference held at KNUST, Kumasi.
She subsequently presented gifts, including cloth and cash donations, to pastors’ widows and the wives of retired ministers. Retired ministers also received cash donations and gifts, while ministers’ wives were each presented with a piece of cloth. In addition, every serving pastor received a special gift.
Renewal of Marriage Vows
The General Superintendent led ministers and their spouses in renewing their marriage vows. He admonished participants to uphold the sanctity of marriage, remain faithful to their sacred vows, and make their marriages exemplary models for their congregations.
Special Presentation
In appreciation of their historic visit, generosity, and exemplary leadership, the North East Regional Council presented a traditional smock to the General Superintendent and a piece of Northern kente to Lady Mrs. Monica Wengam.
Holy Communion
Rev. Wengam administered Holy Communion to participants, emphasizing that its primary purpose is to reflect on the sacrificial death of Christ, rather than focusing exclusively on its benefits, as has become common in some contemporary Christian circles.

The 3rd Apostolic Visit to the North East Region was marked by fervent prayer, spiritual renewal, generous giving, and deep fellowship. Ministers and their families departed strengthened, encouraged, and inspired, with renewed hope and commitment to advancing the mission of the Church despite prevailing challenges.
