A handing-over ceremony climaxed the four-day Leadership Prayer and Orientation Retreat for General Council officials on Friday, 18th September, 2026, at the Headquarters in Accra.

The officials involved were Executive Presbytery officers and National Departmental Directors and Coordinators.

Speakers for the handing-over ceremony were: Rev. Stephen Wengam, General Superintendent; Rev. Ernest Birikorang, outgoing General Secretary; and Rev. Godwin Tito Agyei, outgoing Assistant General Superintendent.

Topics covered included the Metaphor of the Head, Loyalty as the Key Ingredient to Successful Leadership, and Wisdom for Leaders.

The General Superintendent, Rev. Stephen Wengam, supervised the handing-over involving the following offices: Assistant General Superintendent, General Secretary, National Women’s Ministry Director, and Home and Foreign Missions Directors.

Rev. Kwadwo Boateng Bempah assumed office as Assistant General Superintendent, Rev. Albert Anane as General Secretary, Rev. Mrs. Esther Dwommoh as National Women’s Ministry Director, Rev. Aaron Fant as Home Missions Director, and Rev. Boniface Keelson as Foreign Missions Director.

The General Superintendent charged officials of the Church to run with the Transformation Agenda and to demonstrate absolute loyalty to Christ, to leadership, and to the doctrines and constitution of the Church.
