On the sidelines of the National Conference of the General Council of Zimbabwe Assemblies of God in Harare, the Global Chairman of the World Assemblies of God Fellowship (WAGF), Rev. Dominic Yeo, and the Vice Chairman of the Africa Assemblies of God Alliance, Rev. Stephen Wengam, held a strategic meeting with Bishop Shakespeare Tele, General Superintendent of the Zimbabwe Assemblies of God, and Bishop Nevermind Muparutsa, General Superintendent of the Pentecostal Assemblies of Zimbabwe, at the Holiday Inn Hotel.
Discussions focused on the 2026 World Congress of the World Assemblies of God Fellowship, scheduled to take place in Accra, Ghana, from 14th–16th October 2026, the MM33 Vision of WAGF, and strengthening collaboration among the participating national churches. Both Zimbabwean denominations are members of the World Assemblies of God Fellowship.
Rev. Wengam called on churches across Africa to embrace and support the upcoming Congress, describing it as a unique opportunity for the continent to demonstrate its capacity to successfully host major global Christian gatherings. He noted that, with Africa increasingly recognized as a centre of revival, the Congress presents a significant platform to showcase the continent’s growing influence in global Christianity.
Rev. Dominic Yeo encouraged African churches to aggressively pursue the key pillars of the MM33 Vision, including planting one million churches by 2033, empowering the next generation, promoting prayer, and emphasizing the gifts and ministry of the Holy Spirit. He further revealed that with a global membership of approximately 89.9 million, the World Assemblies of God Fellowship remains the largest Protestant church movement in the world and must continue to provide leadership in missions, evangelism, and revival.
Rev. Yeo and Rev. Wengam are serving as guest speakers at the National Conference of the General Council of Zimbabwe Assemblies of God.
