The General Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Ghana, Rev. Stephen Wengam, has challenged pastors to raise the bar by becoming models of great faith, following the example of the fathers of faith in Scripture.
Drawing from the life of Elisha, Rev. Wengam highlighted how desire, vision, and exceptional faith enabled him to accomplish greater exploits than his mentor, Elijah. He emphasized that raising the bar requires exercising faith that goes beyond precedent, rooted in obedience and total dependence on God.
He further admonished newly ordained pastors to shun flamboyance, corruption, and mediocrity, urging them to pursue integrity, excellence, and faithfulness in ministry.
Rev. Wengam delivered the charge at the Ashanti West Regional Council of Assemblies of God, Ghana, held at Grace Chapel Assemblies of God, Amakom, on Thursday, 5th February 2026.
During the service, the General Superintendent ordained about 30 pastors and elevated others to the ranks of Exhorter and Licentiate.
He also announced the upcoming World Congress of the World Assemblies of God Fellowship, scheduled to take place in Accra from 14th–16th October, 2026. Rev. Wengam encouraged pastors and church members to participate fully, outlining the immense spiritual and national benefits the historic event will bring to Ghana and Assemblies of God, Ghana.
