The General Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Ghana, Rev. Stephen Wengam, and Lady Mrs. Monica Wengam continued their Apostolic Visitation with a stop in the Volta South Region, bringing together ministers, their spouses, retired ministers and their spouses, and pastors’ widows for a time of prayer, impartation, fellowship, and spiritual renewal. The event took place on Monday, 30th June 2026, amidst a heavy downpour of rain that led to flooding in many communities. Nonetheless, attendance was impressive and exceeded expectations.

Welcome Address

In his welcome address, the Regional Superintendent, Rev. Stephen Sakyi, applauded the General Superintendent for introducing the Apostolic Visitation initiative and using it as a platform to fellowship with pastors and their spouses while seeking God’s face for divine intervention on all fronts.

Intense Prayer Session

Rev. Wengam led participants in an intensive three-and-a-half-hour prayer session, interceding for the Church, the nation of Ghana, the upcoming World Assemblies of God Fellowship Congress, and the 32nd Biennial General Council Meeting. He encouraged ministers to remain steadfast in their calling, prioritize church planting, strengthen their spiritual disciplines, and uphold godly marriages as examples to the Church.

Presentation of Gifts

Lady Mrs. Monica Wengam presented gifts to ministers and their spouses, as well as cash and gifts to retired ministers. Wives of retired ministers and pastors’ widows also received cloth and cash donations in appreciation of their faithful service.

In a reciprocal gesture, the Volta South Regional Council honoured the first couple for their visionary leadership, generosity, and unwavering commitment to the growth of Assemblies of God, Ghana by presenting them with special gifts.

Renewal of Marriage Vows

Rev. Wengam led married couples in renewing their wedding vows and further encouraged them to prioritize the spiritual and overall development of their families.

Holy Communion

Another remarkable feature of this year’s Apostolic Visitation was the administration of Holy Communion, which crowned a memorable time of prayer, fellowship, and spiritual renewal.
