A MEMORABLE 3RD APOSTOLIC VISIT BY THE GENERAL SUPERINTENDENT OF ASSEMBLIES OF GOD, GHANA, AND WIFE TO UPPER EAST REGION “B”

The 3rd Apostolic Visit of the General Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Ghana, Rev. Stephen Yenusom Wengam, and his wife, Lady Mrs. Monica Wengam, to the Upper East Region “B” took place on Wednesday, 24th June 2026, at Johnnass Lodge, Zebilla. The programme brought together ministers and their spouses, retired ministers and their spouses, as well as pastors’ widows for a time of prayer, fellowship, exhortation, and divine impartation.

Visit to the Regional Office Project Site

Upon their arrival in Zebilla, the General Superintendent and his wife visited the Regional Office project site to inspect the progress of work. After touring the facility, Rev. Wengam expressed satisfaction with the progress made and pledged 500 bags of cement on behalf of the National Headquarters towards the completion of the project. In addition, he personally pledged a further 200 bags of cement on behalf of his family.

Welcome Address

On behalf of the Upper East Region “B” Regional Council, the Regional Superintendent, Rev. Timothy Tarinya Musah, warmly welcomed the General Superintendent and his wife. He expressed profound appreciation for the General Superintendent’s visionary leadership and fatherly care, as well as Lady Mrs. Monica Wengam’s unwavering support for vulnerable members of the ministerial family, particularly pastors’ widows, retired ministers, and their spouses.

Intensive Prayer Session

The General Superintendent led participants in an intensive three-and-a-half-hour prayer session, focusing on thanksgiving, repentance, intercession for the Church, peace and development in the nation and the region, the upcoming 2026 General Council Meeting, the World Assemblies of God Fellowship Congress, and personal needs. Participants experienced a refreshing move of God throughout the prayer session.

Exhortation

Rev. Wengam encouraged ministers to remain steadfast despite the challenges confronting the region, declaring that Upper East Region “B” is marked for progress, revival, and development. He emphasized that God often accomplishes His greatest works in difficult places and urged ministers to demonstrate unwavering faith and perseverance in their ministry.

Presentation of Gifts

Lady Mrs. Monica Wengam expressed appreciation to ministers’ wives for their participation in the 2026 Biennial Ministers’ Wives Conference held at KNUST, Kumasi.

She subsequently presented gifts, including cloth and cash donations, to pastors’ widows and the wives of retired ministers. Retired ministers also received cash donations and gifts, while ministers’ wives each received a piece of cloth. In addition, every serving pastor received a special gift.

Renewal of Marriage Vows

The General Superintendent led ministers and their spouses in renewing their marriage vows. He admonished married couples to uphold their sacred wedding vows faithfully and to make their marriages exemplary models for the congregations they serve.

Special Presentation

In appreciation of their visit, generosity, and support, the Upper East Region “B” Regional Council presented a traditional smock to the General Superintendent and a piece of Northern kente to Lady Mrs. Monica Wengam.

Conclusion

The 3rd Apostolic Visit to Upper East Region “B” was characterized by fervent prayer, spiritual renewal, generosity, and deep fellowship. Ministers and their families departed strengthened, encouraged, and inspired, with renewed hope and confidence for the future of the Church and the region despite prevailing challenges.
