In his speech during the opening ceremony, Rev. Prof. Frimpong-Manso indicated that the Cathedral has come under criticism from a section of the public who have questioned its relevance, and the state’s participation in its construction. But he believes the devil is using the polarization of the country to destroy the idea of the building of the Cathedral. He made a case for the building saying “If we think that the best belongs to the Lord, do they want us to build the cathedral in a certain corner?” “Please the 70% Christians, let us be fair and take the opportunity and contribute. It is doable if everyone will pay Ghc100 a month or less…,” he explained.
